I made this quilt for my friend Liz, who often jokes about how she starts up new projects before finishing current ones. She calls these new projects "side quests". As I was working on this quilt for her, it seemed to keep sending me on side quests as I'd think of a new piece to appliqué onto it, or go back to add more hand quilting. What started as a "quick" project soon turned into a lengthy one! It's funny how quilts can take on the personality of the recipient sometimes.
