Selvedge Letters

When I finished a scrappy improv "Party Bear" quilt in 2022, I wanted to make an equally scrappy label. Cotton+Steel and Ruby Star Society fabrics contain playful selvedges with a variety of fonts, colors, and illustrations, and I routinely save them as I'm cutting fabric, because they're simply too cute to discard. I thought it would be fun to cut letters from these selvedges to piece into a scrappy label. After that label, I continued with this fun creative practice by making more labels for my own quilts and for friends, a couple of lanyards for QuiltCon 2024 and 2025, and incorporating selvedge letters into other projects.
